The insurance industry recorded a technical loss of 9.9 million lira in all segments except life, according to the figures of Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey. A new legislation deals another blow to the insurance industry which has recorded a loss of 205 million lira in six months in traffic insurances. This loss is feared to double with the new legislation allowing the Social Security Agency (SSA) to cut up to 15 percent from traffic insurance premiums for treatment costs.
